to find that its engines are too old to meet the current emissions standards.
Fitting new or more modern engines may solve the problem - but at what cost ?
Can 2-stroke outboards be imported legally ? Some can some can't.
You need to know if you are bringing a boat in with such an engine fitted.
Since January 2006 all boats irrespective of age that are imported into the EEA
have to be inspected and approved to meet the current noise and emission regulations.
